I started in the hospitality industry over fifteen years ago as a mobile disc jockey for Complete Music where I was named DJ of the Year and had the opportunity to DJ and help plan hundreds of weddings and events.  From there, I became the Director of Events & Marketing at Canes Bar & Grill in Mission Beach where I was responsible for managing a marketing and talent budget of over one million dollars annually.  I was in charge of planning and catering corporate events for big name companies such as Bank of America, Vans and Mossy Nissan to booking national and regional touring bands such as The Black Crowes, Prince and John Mayer. 

In addition to planning corporate meetings and events, I also hosted private and nonprofit events.   I helped raise money for several nonprofit organizations such as the Leukemia Society and Autism Foundation by hosting fundraisers.  Some of the private events that I coordinated include wedding receptions, birthdays and anniversaries. I was in charge of selecting and creating all the menus as well as overseeing each event from start to finish. 

In 2009, I started my own event planning company called, PKJ Presents.  I worked with several venues to plan anniversary parties, concerts and catered industry parties. 

I have always had a passion for food, so it was an easy transition for me to move into catering sales at Carriage Trade Catering where I continue to work with my industry contacts to create magical events with customized menus that are not only seasonal but fresh.
